Welcome back to the August 2025 chapter of the Sydney Poetry Lounge, featuring poetry from Kai Jensen and Kathleen Bleakley, and our incredible open mic! Join us upstairs at The Glebe Hotel for a night filled with powerful spoken word performances and heartfelt poetry.
$10 entry, $5 concession, tickets available on the door or via Humanitix.

Kai Jensen
Kai Jensen was born in Philadelphia, as a child emigrated to New Zealand with his family, and is learning to be an Australian. Kai lives and writes on Yuin country at Wallaga Lake on the Far South Coast of New South Wales. His poems have appeared in most leading Australasian literary journals and, in North America, in The Fictional Café, Hole in the Head Review, The Inquisitive Eater, Men Matters Online, New Verse News, Oddball Magazine, Poetry Pacific and Rattle. Kai’s first book of poetry, The Zebra Path of Tree Light, has just been published by 5 Islands Press (in May 2025). Kai’s poetry ranges from personal narrative and captured scenes, through fantasy/sci-fi narratives, to postmodern forms such as erasure poems.
