Description

Due to forecast heavy rain this event has been postponed. New date TBA. 2027 date is a placeholder only.

To celebrate the Aussie Bird Count, join Ian Moodie, environmental educator, nature enthusiast and wildlife photographer, for a walk through Valley Conservation Reserve.

Together we will explore the wonderful bird life of the local environment and record your wildlife observations in the Birdata app.

The Birdata app is a free mobile tool by BirdLife Australia that lets you record bird sightings and complete structured surveys. Your data helps track bird populations, protect key habitats, and support national conservation.

Please note: We will be meeting at the Valley Conservation Reserve education hub. Carpark entry is from Waimarie Drive. From the carpark follow a short path heading south towards the hub.

If you have any accessibility requirements, please contact us at sustainability@monash.vic.gov.au.

We advise wearing walking shoes, a hat and a coat depending on the weather. BYO binoculars.

Please come with the Birdata downloaded on your phone and an account logged in to make observations! How to Get Started in Birdata - Birdata
