'Aussie Spies' Book Launch.

How far would you go to protect a childhood dream when the rest of the world told you to give up?

Aussie Spies is no ordinary action novel—it is a creative universal lore originally conceived in the mind of an autistic boy who was treated as an isolated outcast in school, until he was befriended by the school hero who grew to be a globally respected Hollywood performer, movement director, and choreographer who even worked with Michael Jackson. Inspired by the deep, real-world impact of that life-changing primary school friendship at Boronia Heights, author and qualified filmmaker Jason Wingate is opening up to the public for the first time in twenty years.

He isn't just sharing a high-concept action-adventure epic packed with immense heart, spy thriller action, sci-fi, and creature horror; he is sharing the profound story of neurodivergent resilience and innovation that refused to let a dream fade away. To celebrate this remarkable milestone, the community is gathering at the Logan West Community Centre on Thursday, 5th November, from 5:00 pm—exactly two days before Jason’s 43rd birthday—for a grass-roots evening of connection and local pride. Hosted by 101FM's Caroline Woodman and attended by Councillor Paul Jackson as a special VIP guest, the evening introduces readers to a roller-coaster universe where struggling filmmaker Jake Jackson teams up with his long-lost childhood best friend, Mick Copper, to find that the action heroes they imagined as kids have suddenly come to life. Attendees will get to meet Jason face-to-face, participate in a relaxed community Q&A session, and enjoy celebratory cake and hospitality. Secure your package ticket today to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with local creators, get your first-edition copy hand-signed by the author, and witness the true birth of a brand-new homegrown Australian franchise!
