The Australian Climate Change Education Summit and Action Plan project team invite you to join valuable conversations through our Speaker Series.

In this Speaker Series event we are in conversation with Professor Yin Paradies, Chair in Race Relations at Deakin University.

Professor Yin Paradies is a Wakaya man, an Aboriginal animist anarchist actionist committed to understanding and interrupting the devastating impacts of modern societies. He seeks mutuality of becoming and embodied kinship with all life through transformed ways of knowing, being, doing, perceiving and relating.

In his work at Deakin University, Professor Paradies conducts research on topics such as racism, anti-racism, cultural competence, Indigenous knowledges and decolonisation.

Professor Paradies is recognised as an international expert on racism and has contributed significantly to studying the impact of racism on Indigenous Australians’ health and welfare while examining anti-racism theory, policy and practice across many different settings.

In this conversation Professor Paradies will provide insights into to climate justice, drawing connections between race relations, Indigenous knowledges and the impacts of climate change
