We invite you to join the Climate Salad and Austrade’s San Francisco Landing Pad for an evening of climate tech networking, VC climate tech investor panel, and founder pitches in San Francisco, during the Climate Salad International Trade Mission to the US.

About Climate Salad

Climate Salad is a network of over 400 Australian climate tech companies and we believe that Aussie climate tech can create outsized global solutions. We help founders scale and grow their climate solutions, with a particular focus on international expansion. Take a look at the 15 Australian climate tech companies that are pitching at this event.

About Austrade’s San Francisco Landing Pad

The San Francisco Landing Pad programs are a unique initiative by Austrade to provide market-ready scaleups with an operational base and customized support for their overseas expansion goals. The programs are designed to help Australian tech-enabled scaleups tap into the Americas market by supporting their go-to-market strategy, providing access to co-working spaces, entrepreneurs in residence, and connections to local eco-system communities.

About the Panellists

Aly Bryan, Investor – Closed Loop Partners

Aly is an investor at Closed Loop Partners investing in Pre-seed, Seed, and Series A companies focused on accelerating circularity globally. Deep focus in critical minerals, e-waste, and metals processing, supply chain logistics, modularity, and business model transformations keeping materials in circulation for longer. She’s ex-McKinsey in the Sustainability and Energy practices with previous work in renewables generation and cutting edge technologies supporting circular business models in textiles, building products, consumer goods, and advanced manufacturing. Aly has extensive experience supporting companies ranging from early- and growth-stage start-ups with nearly commercialized solutions to Fortune 50 enterprises with a focus on investment decisions and top-of-house strategy.

Steve Markus, Investor - Voyager Ventures

Steve is an investor with Voyager Ventures, a climate-focused early stage VC backing visionary founders building the foundation of our decarbonized global economy. He holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in mechanical engineering, and prior to Voyager, spent 7 years leading the mechanical design of residential energy products at Tesla.

Alexandra Iljadica, Investor - BHP Ventures

Based in Seattle, Alexandra is an investor at BHP Ventures, the internal venture capital unit within BHP, a leading global resources company. Alexandra invests in a spectrum of technologies providing future growth options for BHP. This includes carbon capture, utilization and storage, hydrogen and alternate fuels, battery recycling and chemistries, traceability and steel decarbonization. Prior to BHP Alexandra helped build the 5G Open Innovation Lab, a software enterprise program for world leading technology companies such as Microsoft, Intel, T-Mobile and Accenture to work with start-ups leading the development of connectivity and computing enabled products. Early in her career in Australia, Alexandra built the Youth Food Movement, a national non-profit to build a sustainable food and agriculture system where she worked with local and state governments and universities.

Moderator: Odette Hampton | Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner, Consul-General, Austrade

As Australia's Consul General and Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner to San Francisco, Odette focuses on attracting foreign direct investment into Australia and supporting Australian business into the US including through Austrade's San Francisco Landing Pad.
