Event description

🌿 Edible Australian Native Plants with Karen Shaw

Discover the flavours, stories and possibilities of South Australia’s edible native plants.
Join Karen Shaw for an inspiring and informative session exploring where native food plants grow, how they’re used for food and medicine, and how to grow them yourself — for pleasure or profit.

Enjoy a tasting platter featuring fresh, dried and preserved Australian native fruits, nuts, herbs and seeds, while learning how to prepare and use these unique ingredients.

Karen brings over a decade of hands-on experience in the native food industry — from harvesting and propagation to education and catering — and shares her deep respect for Country and collaboration with First Nations people.

1–1.5 hour presentation

“I like to encourage participants to plant, care for and harvest native edible foods from their land or backyard where they reside and to use and share these original foods with family and friends” Karen Shaw
