The Awards
The Australian Philanthropy Awards recognise and celebrate extraordinary achievements in contemporary philanthropy for work that is visionary, high impact and transformative. They also celebrate partnerships between philanthropy and for-purpose organisations and honour those who are working to create lasting, positive change.
Australian philanthropy has helped lead the way through another challenging year under the strain of the global pandemic. The actions and impact of considered, best practice giving in these difficult times are laying the foundations of how we are building back to a better future.
The relationship between philanthropy and community continues to grow more vital. The Australian Philanthropy Awards highlight this by celebrating the positive change achieved through philanthropic partnerships, while elevating a range of funding practises as case studies to add to the rich tapestry of Australian philanthropy.
Below are the nine event categories for Award recipients.

- Leading Philanthropist – Australian philanthropy’s highest honour awarded to an individual
