Event description

Boomerang Labs is excited to run our monthly webinar series in 2023, where we’ll unpack the most pressing topics in the world of circular economy startups and innovation. In April we're joined by Alison Covington AM, Founder & Managing Director of Good360 Australia, as well as Jo Taranto, founder of Good for the Hood.

A circular economy multiplies resource value, with unique business models in reuse, recycling and repair (and the other Rs) enabling 'feedback loops' for our materials to get a second life. Whilst this concept is widely framed through its economic opportunity, there lies an inherent connection between circular economy principles and social good.

In this webinar we will discuss the opportunity of Australia's growing 'returns economy', as organisations and communities can benefit from better resource efficiency.

Every year in Australia, $2.5 billion of unsold household goods are wasted and 1 in 6 Australians are living below the poverty line. We'll hear from Alison Covington on her insights as the Founder of Good360 Australia, a not for profit organisation that exists to reduce this need and waste by connecting businesses' brand new unsold goods to people in need.

Since 2018, Good for the Hood has been empowering ordinary people to create change across neighbourhoods, community groups and workplaces.

"Our vision is to build an eco-system of everyday change-makers and to make the journey accessible, positive and light-hearted so that every person – no matter what their age, political views or background – can be inspired to create their own piece of good."

Register now and let us know your burning questions on this topic - we'll either weave the answer into our presentations or discuss it during the Q&A.
