Event description
Join us for the Te Ataata 2025 Public Talk Anoitne Bertin
AUT’s Faculty of Design and Creative Technologies - Te Ara Auaha is pleased to announce the 2025 Te Ataata artist in residence is Studio Bertin founder Antoine Bertin.
The Te Ataata Residency is hosted by Auckland University of Technology (AUT) in partnership with the French Embassy in New Zealand and Institut Français and runs from 30 September to 4 November 2025.
French artist Antoine Bertin works at the intersection of science and sensory immersion, field recording and sound storytelling, data and music composition.
By transforming scientific data and environmental phenomena into experiential artworks, Bertin invites audiences to engage deeply with the act of listening. From intimate sonic encounters to large-scale installations, Bertin’s work explores perception, ecology, and the unseen systems that connect human and non-human worlds.
Bertin’s projects have been presented internationally across festivals, galleries, and interdisciplinary platforms, positioning him as a leading creative voice in art-science collaboration.
"We are thrilled to welcome Antonine to AUT's Faculty of Design and Creative Technologies - Te Ara Auaha," acting DCT Dean Dr Suzanne Wilkinson says.
"As a faculty focused on transdisciplinary learning and research, we look forward to working alongside the artist."
During his time in Aotearoa, Bertin’s programme will include teaching engagements, cross-institutional exchanges, and collaborative discussions with artists, curators, and researchers.
