Event description

Join us as Allen Tiller and JJ Carpenter discuss JJ's latest realease - The Haunting of Kenmore Asylum.

JJ Carpenter is an author of Australian historical horror, celebrating our personal histories and unearthing our hidden histories through thrilling, terrifying tales.

JJ has been writing books since she was six years old - a collection of kooky tales she would staple together and hide in a shoebox under her bed. Penning her first novel at the age of 12, her love of all things creepy, supernatural and wild has never left her. Join JJ as she journeys through haunted places and chilling mysteries across the beautiful country, and rich history, of Australia.

She was born in Canberra, Australia. She spent her childhood in various locations, including the Barossa Valley, South Australia, and Hampshire, England. As an adult, she's spent much of her career living and working in the South Pacific: Solomon Islands (twice), Vanuatu, Fiji and beyond.

Allen Tiller is an award-winning Paranormal Historian, and a University-educated Historian & Genealogist as well as a qualified Library and Information Services Technician. Allen has completed a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in history and a Diploma of Family History at the University of Tasmania. I watch them come and go

1910
The mentally unwell are considered dangerous and a blight to be kept hidden from family and society. The recently opened Kenmore Asylum is bursting at the seams. Amidst the churn, Nurse Harriet tries to make a real impact on her charges. But one of them, Alice, seems beyond anyone’s help…

1950s
Bonnie is a fresh, determined nurse trainee, out to prove herself and make her way into the world. But nothing is as she expected when the shadows are rife with the spirits of those who haven’t walked the halls of Kenmore in a very long time.

2021
The notoriously haunted Kenmore Asylum stands abandoned behind an easily circumnavigated fence. YouTube ghost hunters Aiden and Devin seek fame and fortune behind its walls—but something else just might find them first.

Inspired by true events and factual accounts of life at Kenmore Asylum, Goulburn, Australia.
