Be empowered to find your own voice! Join local author Jolene Gutierrez as she reads her newest book, Mamiachi & Me. Follow the journey of a young girl named Rosa as she performs for the first time with her mami and madrinas. Learn about Jolene’s creative process, ask questions and enjoy the lively sounds of mariachi music.

A book signing will follow the author's presentation.

Our events are free, but require an RSVP to make sure we can accommodate everyone. All events are welcoming, and a safe space for everyone. Most events will take place at Second Star to the Right Bookstore. Some might be at off site locations, so be sure to note the location on the event. We ask that you please be on time to be courteous to visiting authors, storytime presenters, and other event attendees. With events at the bookstore, keep in mind street parking, and a parking garage located next to Tokyo Bakery.
