Event description

Andrew Skeoch is a master nature-sound recordist and acoustic ecologist, who over the last thirty years has travelled widely to capture the sounds of the world’s remaining wild places.

In his book, Deep Listening to Nature, Andrew guides us in how to become a listener to nature immediately around us. By expanding our listening awareness, we can identify species by voice, recognise the purposes of various vocalisations, and listen more deeply to the whole environment, to hear how nature works.

Join us for an immersive multi-media presentation, as Andrew weaves a narrative of ideas with vibrant recordings of birdsong and nature sounds. These are supported by spectrogram analysis, allowing the audience to appreciate the beauty and structure of nature’s communications.

Copies of Deep Listening to Nature will be available for purchase at the event.
