Leipzig via Lugano’s weirdo punk heroes Autobahns will be returning to Australia this June! After their first tour in January 2024, they’re back this time hitting both coasts, alongside a smokin’ roster of local and interstate supports. Their “First LP” was a beloved release from renowned Victorian label Legless Records and now they hit us with a split with Melbourne kings Elvis 2. Hope you freakos are ready. 

“If you were waiting for the typical and overused egg-punk stuff, this is not your album, cause although Giulliano always seemed to us the top-boy of the class from the old continent, with this "First LP" he has surpassed any of our expectations with a sound where weirdness, the wild synth-punk-garage reminiscent of pioneer bands like Ausmuteants and even a touch of Skate-punk are threaded with unusual class over a layer of juicy and freaky LoFi that makes it simply irresistible... “You may not know Giuliano Iannarella, the Germany and Switzerland-based punk rocker, but the debut Autobahns album First LP! makes a strong case that he deserves a seat alongside fellow rippers-to-watch Gee Tee, Alien Nosejob, and Sick Thoughts. It’s not easy to designate exactly where this lives in the realms of egg, chain, and skate punk—it’s a journey across all those vibes. There’s a track here called “Ciapa Male,” and it’s just choppy and relentless rock’n’roll that could burn for a full hour without getting old. It’s the kind of debut with so much power, so many major songs, and so many different vibes packed into one album, it feels like a star turn for Iannarella. Synths attempt to simmer things down near the end, but it’s useless: First LP! burns hot.”
