This interactive Automated testing best practices online workshop is designed to help small-to-medium-sized businesses establish, grow and improve existing automated testing practices.
This free session will suit developers already using automated testing, as well as those looking to introduce it. The workshop will kick off with a half-hour rundown on strategy and business aspects, before moving into a deep dive of practical and technical applications of automated testing.
Workshop schedule:
- An introduction to test automation (30 minutes):
An open, but guided, discussion on test automation and how it fits into the bigger picture of testing and IT delivery.
- Common mistakes in test automation (30 minutes)
This will cover:- Framework choice
- Test structure
- Coverage models
- Execution management
- Test data management
- WebDriver techniques Interactive section covering (1 hour):
- The outdated page object model
- Modelling what matters in your web application
- WebDriverWait
- Identifying what doesn’t belong in your repository.

Trainer Bios:
Cuong Pham: Global Practice Director – Test Automation
Cuong has over 15 years in software delivery, with a focus on helping organisations adopt more agile automation practices.
He oversees the automation practice strategy @ Planit across AU, NZ, India, UK and has experience working across many sectors and companies of different sizes.

- Championing and driving test automation and continuous testing outcomes
Alex Irvine: NZ Practice Lead – Test Automation
Over 15 years in software delivery with a strong background in test automation and test management tool implementations and is a recognised expert in his field.
He currently oversees Planits automation practice across New Zealand.

Juan Florez: Planit’s Senior Technical Architect
Juan is Planit’s most senior technical individual. He is the person we go to when we need a solution to the impossible. He is a highly experienced developer and test engineer with a demonstrated history of working in the information technology and services industry. Strong engineering professional skilled in DevOps, Performance Tuning, Load Testing, Test Automation, Mobile Applications, Robotic Process Automation and System Integration Testing.
For the past few years, he has been working in R&D for Planit, looking into the future of technology and leading innovation initiatives into software testing, AI, IoT, and DevOps
