Tour Summary:

All Aboard Port Bus for our 2023 Autumn Gardens Tour.

Our first Garden is the award-winning Hunter Region Botanic Gardens which is managed and maintained by volunteers for the enjoyment and education of the people of the Hunter region and visitors from Australia and overseas. The beautiful gardens cater to everyone from serious horticultural enthusiasts to students undertaking educational school trips and families wanting to enjoy a day outdoors. Next stop, the Secret Garden & Nursery. The Secret Garden is a not-for-profit ‘Community Hub’ situated on 15 acres at the Western Sydney University campus in Richmond. The focus of the garden is to provide a space that draws community groups, organisations, and individuals from all walks of life together in a welcoming environment that enables them to flourish and grow.

Onto Retford Park which is a heritage must-see in the Southern Highlands. We visit this beautiful property, including its magnificent gardens, and a guided tour of the house.

Our Private Gardens of Monaro tour meets at the first garden, Hazeldean at 10.00 am sharp. You will spend around one and a half hours at Hazeldean with morning tea and a tour of the garden, before moving on to the other gardens, Curry Flat for lunch and then afternoon tea at Shirley, spending around one and a half hours at each. Our day finishes at 4.30 pm.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Pickups will commence by 07:00. Port Bus morning tea will be @ Buladelah before we head to the Hunter Region Botanic Gardens. Departing by 15:15 we head South to Hawkesbury and check in to the Hawkesbury Race Club, Motel. Dinner tonight is @ The Royal Richmond Hotel, Richmond.

Day 2: We pop out to Richmond and visit the Secret Garden & Nursery before we head further south for lunch, a visit, and a tour of Retford Park, Bowral. A comfort stop @ Sutton before checking in at the Cooma Motor Inn. Dinner tonight is a short walk to the Cooma Ex-Services Club.

Day 3: A big day today we have our own Private Gardens of Monaro Tour! By the time you have had morning tea, lunch, and afternoon tea AND visited 3 x Gardens along the way you will be glad for a refresh when we check in to the ‘The Tradies’ in Canberra. Dinner tonight if you are still hungry is in the adjoining Tradies Club.

Day 4: A rest day today, mostly traveling home. However, we will enjoy lunch at the Anglers Restaurant in Brooklyn with the beautiful views. Comfort stops along the way and drop offs will commence around 18:30.
