Event description

EVENT Update:

As many of you will be aware the Australian Federal Government and the South Australian government has put restrictions on large gatherings of people, because of this AVCon 2020 will not be held until July 9th-11th 2021. All tickets purchased for the July 2020 and January 2021 event will be refunded fully, and you will need to purchase new tickets for the July 9th-11th event. Please contact ticketing@avcon.org.au if you have any questions.

AVCon brings the best of anime and video gaming to Australia. The event has been held annually in July since 2002 and is managed by a dedicated team of volunteers through the not-for-profit organisation Team AVCon Incorporated.

As well as a focus on allowing local, interstate and international traders and artists to display their works and wares, AVCon hosts many additional attractions. Among these include; independent video game developer spaces, along with guests, panels and workshops on these and related areas of interest to our attendees.

Friday:
We are running exclusively for Quiz Night patrons only. Tickets to this event is extremely limited.

When booking, please email ticketing@avcon.org.au your group name and proof of purchase, so we can allocate you to the correct table. If you do not have a group, please email ticketing@avcon.org.au your name and proof of purchase, and you will be assigned to a 'public' table where you will be playing with other patrons who do not have a team.

Saturday:
3x 4 hour sessions will be running, with an hour between sessions so we can ensure we have done a full clean and sanitise of the venue, this is inline with SA Health recommendations.
Running the event in sessions helps keep our numbers to stick to our room capacities, and ensures that everyone gets to enjoy the event.

18+ session will be held Saturday evening, this is an event where artists, exhibitors etc. can sell NSFW content, attendees can participate in mature gaming, panels of mature themes will be able to run. This session will be strictly monitored, and a more expansive code of conduct and guidelines for sellers and cosplayers will be in place, if you do not abide that code of conduct you will be removed from the event entirely, and will be permanently banned from attending ANY future AVCon events.
