Whether you’re just starting out or looking to sharpen your bird photography skills, this beginner-friendly workshop is the perfect opportunity to get hands-on experience in the field.
Join Amanda Vallance, professional bird photographer and founder of Avian Adventures Australia, for a full-day bird photography session at Laratinga Wetlands - one of the most accessible and rewarding birding locations in South Australia. The wetlands are teeming with birdlife, and the birds here are remarkably tolerant of walkers and joggers, making it easier for beginners to compose their shots, fine-tune settings, and capture that perfect frame.
We’ll cover:• Camera settings for bird photography• Focusing techniques and tracking movement• Composition and lighting in natural settings• Ethics and respectful wildlife photography• Field practice with real-time support and feedback
Bring your camera, long lens (ideally 200mm or more), water, snacks, a hat, and comfy shoes. A tripod or monopod is optional.
Please let us know if you don't have a tripod/monopod and would like to use one for the session.
