Description

School can be hard for Autistic children with a PDA profile (sometimes called Pathological Demand Avoidance or Pervasive Drive for Autonomy).

When school feels unsafe or overwhelming, children may respond with distress, avoidance, or resistance. These responses are often misunderstood, especially at school.

Joining us for this webinar is Raelene Dundon from Okey Dokey Psychology.

Raelene will help families better understand PDA at school, including why children may struggle and what support can help.

Raelene is an Autistic and ADHDer Educational and Developmental Psychologist, Play Therapist, Author, Lecturer and parent. She has over 20 years experience working with neurodivergent children and their families, and regularly presents on topics associated with neurodiversity affirming practice and neurodivergence both locally and internationally. Raelene is passionate about supporting Neurodivergent children to understand and accept who they are, and to empower them to be themselves in a society that still has a long way to go in celebrating difference.
