Event description

  • As we create the conditions for happiness we are happier.
  • As we create the conditions for peace we experience more peace.
  • As we create the conditions for ease we have more ease in our lives.

Let’s come together and create favorable conditions. A day of practice, in community, is a gift! It can reset our nervous systems and give us permission to rest. It can be the energetic reset we need to live our lives in greater alignment with what’s most important to us.

Everything is conditioned!

Let’s contribute to those conditions in a beneficial way, together, for our own benefit, and the benefit of all beings, and our precious planet.

The day will include silent meditation, guided meditation, eating, walking and resting in awareness, presence and ease.

Augusta Hopkins has more than a decade of experience teaching meditation and mindfulness, coupled with almost twenty years of committed Buddhist practice. She shares Dharma that’s down to earth and very accessible. Augusta is committed to waking up through the inevitable experiences of life. Her mom died in the fall, so she knows suffering. And in the first half of this year alone, she has spent two months in intensive retreat practice in the cultivation of AWARENESS to meet ALL that life brings.

This daylong will be a special opportunity to receive transmission from a heart-mind just out of intensive retreat. Augusta is spending the month of June at Insight Meditation Society’s Forest Refuge. Practicing Vipassana (cutting through or clear seeing, often translated as Insight) in the approach put forth by Sayadaw U Tejaniya.

The daylong will also draw on teachings Augusta received directly from her teacher, Thich Nhat Hanh, and indirectly from Ajahn Chah through his Lay and Monastic disciples.
