    Event description

October 10 is Australasian Women in Emergencies Day (AWE Day), a day to recognise and celebrate the contribution of women to emergency management and disaster resilience.

Join us at the AWE Day Forum to hear from guest speaker Sarah (Norm) Stuart-Black, Secretary General of New Zealand Red Cross, and former Director of Civil Defence Emergency Management in NEMA New Zealand who led over 50 emergencies affecting the country, as she shares lessons and insights from her own career journey.

We’re also excited to welcome special guest Ruth Wraith OAM who will announce the winners of the inaugural AWE Excellence Awards.

Women bring unique skills and strengths to all areas of disaster resilience and emergency management, and their insights and expertise help build resilience across Australasia. Join us on 10 October to recognise and celebrate all women across the sector!
