Join us for the launch of the AWGSA disability inclusion policy!
In this seminar, AWGSA Disability Representatives Dr Josephine Browne and Dr Ebony Muller will discuss AWGSA's new Disability Inclusion Policy, a first for the organisation which they have proudly co-created. Come along to learn how AWGSA will be considering Disability Inclusion moving forward, to give suggestions, broach concerns, and to ask questions about the policy.

Josephine Browne (she/her) began her career in Human Services, before shifting to research and teaching. Most recently, her work has focused on futures for masculinities in the context of environmental crises, including a current Special Issue publication in NORMA's (M)anthropocene issue (2025). She is co-editor and contributor for a multispecies sociology collection, Human-Animal Relationships in Times of Pandemic and Climate Change (Routledge 2025). Her award-winning fiction has appeared in publications such as Hecate, Island and several anthologies, most recently ACE IV (Recent Work Press 2023). Dr Ebony Muller (they/them) is a dance/performance artist and early-career researcher currently working across The University of Melbourne, RMIT University and Deakin University, where they received their PhD in 2022. Based in Naarm, they are of Sri Lankan, Greek and Albanian descent. Their research expertise traverses creative practising, feminist care ethics and critical disability embodiments – particularly, how they intertwine with queer, transgender and racialised ontologies and representations. They currently serve as the Transgender and Disability Representative on the Australian Women’s and Gender Studies (AWGSA) executive committee.
