Event description

Class Description: The Advanced Zero Waste Planning Course is designed to deliver in-depth instruction on tools used in community Zero Waste Planning. In addition, participants will learn how to understand Material Characterization studies and standard metrics used in Zero Waste planning. Participants will get instructions on Zero Waste USA’s community planning toolkit, which precedes the advanced tools. The advanced Zero Waste planning tools taught in this course include the Diversion Potential and Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Analysis and the Cost Estimate Tool. There is no homework or quiz, but there are plenty of supplementary reading materials located in the Canvas classroom. Certificate of Completion issued.

Prerequisite: This course is intended for those who work directly on creating Zero Waste plans for communities. During this class, advanced Zero Waste planning concepts and tools are taught. Excel skills are required. The Introduction to Zero Waste Class or Zero Waste Associates Course is the prerequisite. Recordings are available to view those classes if needed. 

Class Goal and Outcome: Knowledge of Zero Waste Advanced Planning techniques that communities need to plan for Zero Waste and track success. 

Cost: $150. Zero Waste USA Affiliates - $100. Group and student discounts are available.
