Free Backcountry Awareness Community Night
Event description
Join us for an engaging and insightful evening focused on avalanche awareness and decision-making in the mountains. Our first Community Night of the winter will be hosted by IFMGA Mountain Guide and athlete, Will Rowntree.
Will is going to be breaking down some of the avalanches that occurred last season by walking us through the conditions, forecasts from the day, and take a close look at the terrain choices and critical decisions that were made for us to learn from. He will share his personal approach to trip planning and how to make safe and smart calls in the backcountry and bring it to life by sharing some of his own trips and learnings from his time in the mountains.
BCA will also be demoing their avalanche safety equipment and what's new for the 2025 season.
Whether you're new to touring or a seasoned rider, this is a chance to connect with your community, sharpen your awareness, and learn from real-world experience. $1 from every brewery purchase made on the evening will benefit SARDA with heaps of giveaways throughout the night.
