United Way Backpack Blast - Packing Event

United, we're back to school! Join us on the morning of Thursday, August 8 from 8:30 -10:00 a.m. where we will come together to kick off our campaign season, and volunteers will pack backpacks full of school supplies so 1,000 Northwest Ohio students can start off the school year with the tools they need to succeed. The backpacks will be distributed to partner agencies in our local community! Check-in will begin at 8:30am, with the backpack building beginning at 9am.

This event is focused solely on packing backpacks; we will not be distributing them during this time. For individuals seeking backpacks or school supplies, please dial 211 for details on school supply giveaways for the upcoming school year. 

Recipients of the backpacks will be:

Wood County Educational Service Center

HOPE Toledo

Safety Net

Boys & Girls Club

Kinship Navigator Program – Area Office on Aging

Sylvania Area Family Services
