Backyard Greenscaping
Event description
Join us for a morning of conversation about backyard growing for greenscaping our urban and rural environments. Come and meet Mel Yuan from Brunswick Communities for Nature and Tom Collins from Tree Project.
First up we'll hear from Mel about the amazing work that the Brunswick Communities for Nature are doing in their local area. This group is committed to creating a more attractive, biologically diverse and climate-change tolerant urban environment. They describe themselves as a group of volunteers greening Brunswick by planting native plants in public spaces. Come and hear how they do it.
Next we'll hear from Tom who will share his involvement with Tree Project - an wonderful organisation that gets urban and rural communities working together to put trees back on the land. Trained urban volunteers grow indigenous seedlings for rural landholders and Landcare groups who need help repairing Victoria’s damaged ecosystems. Learn about how Tree Project has sown 2 million trees since 1989. Come and hear how you can get involved.
We'd love to see you there - morning tea provided and we'll send you home with a free plant.
