BAE Systems Australia, in partnership with Defence Industry Advisory Services (DIAS), would like to invite you to our “Winning Defence Business” workshop.
Winning Defence Business is a two-day course designed to increase supplier proficiency in the art of Defence business capture. Underpinned by established methodologies, the course will provide participants with practical advice, tailored tools, and processes to improve their business winning prospects in the Defence sector. From proactively shaping market opportunities through to delivering a winning proposal, participants will gain clear, actionable strategies to engage their Defence industry customers effectively.
The Winning Defence Business course includes:
An introduction to structured capture planning methodologies
What makes the Defence market unique to business winning
Understanding BAE Systems as a Prime customer in the market
Long-term strategies to position your business for success
How to assess an opportunity & where your business sits in the value chain
Capture planning 101: campaign planning, stakeholder engagement, messaging
Proposal planning: hot buttons, win themes, bid/no bid, teaming and readiness
Proposal development: compliant, consistent, compelling proposals
Post-submission activities: transition & negotiation planning, the importance of AARs
Shifting capabilities to meet new opportunities: where to go for support
Shared tools and processes that are tailored for SMEs.
Note: It is essential to attend both days to gain maximum benefit. The days are not offered separately.
The course is free for Australian businesses. You are able to nominate up to two representatives from your organisation. This course assumes a baseline level of knowledge of operating in the Defence sector. The target audience for this course are those individuals within the business that contribute to business winning activities or bid responses.

Time: 9:00am – 5:30pm both days | Registrations open 8:30am. Networking on day 1 from 5:00pm - 6:00pm.
Location: Sydney CBD - location will be provided to confirmed attendees prior to the event
Catering: Tea, coffee, water and catering will be provided on both days
Cost: Travel and accommodation expenses are the responsibility of the participating Company/Delegate.
By registering for this event, you acknowledge that late cancellation inside of 48 hours before the event, or non-attendance on the day will incur a mandatory cancellation fee. The policy is strictly enforced and non-negotiable.
