Balancing Effective Course Delivery and Student Accommodations (Coquitlam)
Description
Workshop Overview
2:30-4:30 pm
How can we support students with accommodations while also creating sustainable, effective learning environments for everyone?
In this session, we’ll explore common accommodation scenarios and consider how our thinking, planning, and teaching practices can help accommodations feel less like an added burden and more a part of supporting students to thrive.
Building on ideas from our recent anti-ableism sessions, we’ll have an opportunity to share experiences, work through scenarios, ask questions, and consider practical approaches we can bring into our own classes.
We’ve added lots of content from the sessions to the Blackboard organization. We encourage you to check it out and engage with some of the interactive polling questions.
You don’t need to have attended the anti-ableism sessions to participate. Whether you’re bringing a question, a classroom experience, or simply curious about the topic, come ready to think together about how we can bring out the best in our students while maintaining effective and sustainable teaching practices.
