Ballantynes Breakfast Club with Little Finch's Georgie Priest

On Thursday 21st November, 2024, our CEO, Maria O’Halloran will be interviewing Georgie Priest from Little Finch.

We first met Georgie in 2023 when she won our “Ballantynes Bring it to the Boardroom” competition. Our bi-annual event where we invite budding designers and entrepreneurs to pitch their creations to us.

Georgie presented her beautiful, practical and safe play mats. After the birth of her second daughter and facing a mammoth renovation, Georgie found the solid wood floors that she loved so much were sadly neither the kindest nor the safest space for her newborn to discover the world. So began the search for the perfect play mat. Georgie was disappointed to discover that many existing styles and brands available could not tick all the boxes. They were either made of toxic substances, too brightly coloured or could not withstand the spills of both a toddler and baby.

We love how Georgie recognised a gap in the market and created her own business – Little Finch. We hope that you can join us as we ask Georgie all about creating a product, starting a business; the challenges and surprises along the way and believing in yourself and your product.
