Ballarat Speakers Club 14th July 22
Event description
Our July guest speaker, Veronica Schwarz, is an amazing woman you will not forget in a hurry. Born in Darwin and raised on Victoria River Downs station, she learnt to ride a horse aged 4. Later she became a teacher and has taught students from prep to 80 year-olds.
Travel, writing, teaching and lifelong learning have been constant threads through Veronica’s life. She learnt to speak German, French and a little Spanish in order to enrich her extensive travel experiences.
Veronica’s short stories have been published in many magazines including Woman’s Day. She has published several books and recently launched her latest one entitled “Down to Earth: Busting the Myths of Venus and Mars.” The result of 10 years serious research, this book lifts the lid on gender stereotypes and how they restrict and constrain us. This will be the general theme of her talk together with stories from her adventurous life.
A wonderful raconteur with a rich life story, Veronica’s talk promises to be one of the highlights of our 2022 luncheons.
