BallaRatCat Comedy in the Chapel
Event description
Featuring: PETER HELLIAR, DANNY McGINLAY, and more to be announced!
Come along to BallaRatCat’s big return – we're back, and we're making a new home in this stunning and unique venue. Hallelujah!
THE STORY:
BallaRatCat Comedy, Ballarat’s biggest and longest-running comedy night, ran at The George Hotel from 2013 to 2020… 2022… something… we can’t remember, it was a strange time.
Under the guiding hand of Beth Lamont and an incredible team of cool cats, the room hosted some of Australia’s biggest names in comedy. From Tom Gleeson, Denise Scott and Dave Hughes to Aunty Donna, Celia Pacquola, Tommy Little, and so many more.
Stopped in our tracks by Covid in 2020, we took a break. That break was then extended by Beth receiving a breast cancer diagnosis in mid 2022. Then (after a year of horrible but ultimately successful treatment), a project came along that has changed things forever – Ballarat Performing Arts Community!
Beth is now the general manager of BPAC, which manages a venue in Soldiers Hill and provides opportunities for a huge range of performing arts. Our showcase space is the former Neil St Uniting Church, now called The Chapel, and we cannot wait to fill it with laughter.
Join us for fun times and big laughs!
