Event description

We are very excited to introduce the inaugural Bandicoot Revue: a music festival, bake sale and art market, raising awareness and money for The Bee Hub's incredible conservation and community projects in Wirraparinga (Brown Hill Creek Recreation Park)—including the restoration of key habitat for a variety of native bees and the endangered Southern Brown Bandicoot! You can learn more about their offerings and connected projects here and here.

The Bandicoot Revue is slated to be a beautiful evening of music, art, food and fun, with something to enjoy for nature-loving friends of all ages. Expect to hear incredible music from some of Adelaide's best and brightest folk artists from 4pm—featuring Jordi Hall & Aisha Winter, Stickybeak, Adela May, and The Squalor! For those interested in hearing more about The Bee Hub, co-owner Dr Rossi von der Borch will also be giving a short talk about their mission during the programme.

A small art market, featuring amazing wares from talented local artists, and a bake sale, with many yummy treats to purchase, will also be on site for all to enjoy. There will be lots of amazing native wildlife (potentially including the majestic yellow-tailed black cockatoo—and the koala!) to spot, right at home in one of the most beautiful natural locations in greater Adelaide, too!

Please BYO a picnic (+ rugs and low-backed event chairs) to enjoy while listening to the music, and bring all your friends from far and wide—tickets are available for online pre-purchase, with the potential for extremely limited door tickets on the day. Alcoholic drinks will also be available to purchase (please do not BYO alcohol).

We can't wait to come together to celebrate the amazing work of The Bee Hub soon—it's going to be a very special night!

Parking around the venue will be limited—please consider carpooling to and from the Bee Hub, or parking outside of Brown Hill Creek Recreation Park and walking in (a bonus to enjoy the incredible landscape!) The venue will also be mobility aid-friendly, with a disabled toilet available on request, and will feature space to relax for those needing to decompress. More detailed information about the event's accessibility will be provided closer to the date.

This event will be held on the traditional lands of the Kaurna people—Wirraparinga has traditionally been an extremely sacred meeting place in their culture. We pay our respects to elders past, present, and emerging, and acknowledge that their sovereignty was never ceded.
