We are Welcome to Barwon 2.0, a newly formed community group on the Surf Coast continuing the work of previous local efforts to support refugee families.

Our goal is to raise $15,000 to welcome a refugee family to our region and provide them with the essentials they need to begin a new life in safety and dignity.

This includes:

Groceries and SIM cards.
Myki cards for transport.
Furniture and whitegoods.
Household appliances and other necessities.
Rent.

We’re working with Community Refugee Sponsorship Australia (CRSA), a national charity that trains and supports groups like ours through the Community Refugee Integration and Settlement Pilot. Families are referred by the UN Refugee Agency and supported by everyday Australians who want to make a difference.

This is a chance for our community to come together and show what welcome really looks like. Whether you donate, share our campaign, or help us find short-term housing (like a vacant holiday home), your support matters.
