Barista Training
Event description
The Barista skill set is an accredited course. The theory and practical workshop-based course starts with the growing and roasting of the beans and leads participants through the process of extracting the perfect espresso and making the complete menu of espresso drinks.
Throughout the course, participants will be offered plenty of practice to make the perfect brew. Outcomes include:
- The rich history of coffee – from growing to harvesting
- An introduction to the artisan skill so coffee roasting
- Dosing and tamping to create the perfect espresso extraction (+tasting of course)
- The art of milk texturing – exploring different levels of microfoam required for café drinks
- Demonstration of a complete café quality coffee
- Basic expresso machine maintenance
The course will take place from Wednesday 10th - Friday 12th April, 9:30am - 2:30pm each day. Attendance is required at all three days to sufficiently complete the course.
On completion, participants will receive their Barista Accreditation as well as a certificate of participation in the workshop.
Registration fee includes lunch & snacks.
All participants from the Workforce Development program are invited to attend the Industry Connection Event on Monday 15th April, to meet industry & potential employers.
