Barrambin Blooming 'flower connecting' session
Event description
Barrambin Blooming is a collaborative art installation, created by renowned Queensland artist, Simone Eisler, and is the biggest art installation ever to be created at BGGS.
Inspired by the lost landscape of Barrambin and the 150th anniversary of the founding of Brisbane Girls Grammar School, students have been busy making 4000 paper flowers, which need to be fixed to mesh panels to be hung in the Creative Arts Centre.
Hosted by Head of Visual Art, Mr Donald Pincott, we welcome students, parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and anyone with some spare time to join us for this session. If you can join us for 20 minutes, 2 hours or the full session, all help will be gratefully received.
Barrambin Blooming will be officially launched on Friday 1 August at BGGS Open Day 2025.
Date: Saturday 14 June 2025
Time: 8.30 am to 12.30 pm
Venue: Band Room, Level 1 CLC
Catering: Morning tea will be provided.
We welcome all participation in this special project and hope to create a joyous community event.
