Spend New Year’s Eve at Yering Farm Wines with a full evening of live blues and roots, Yering Farm wine and cider, good food, a summer sunset and a midnight countdown.

Barrels, Bottlenecks & Blues brings together six Australian acts for a small, relaxed New Year’s Eve celebration in the Yarra Valley.

No huge festival. No packed nightclub.

Just proper live music, good wine and a beautiful place to see out the year.

THE LINEUP

LLOYD SPIEGEL TRIO

Fourteen-time Australian Blues Award winner Lloyd Spiegel is joined by Lisa Baird on trombone and vocals and Tim Burnham on drums.

Built around Lloyd’s guitar playing, powerful voice and storytelling, the trio adds trombone, drums and plenty of energy to a sound that stretches well beyond straight-ahead blues.

CATFISH VOODOO

After years away from the stage, Catfish Voodoo are coming out of retirement for Barrels, Bottlenecks & Blues.

Expect low-down Chicago blues, harmonica, bottleneck guitar and plenty of boogie, with Melbourne bassist Pete Bulke joining the band for this special return.

WHITE LIGHTNING

A hard-hitting two-piece built around guitar, harmonica, drums and slide.

White Lightning mix Mississippi Hill Country blues with raw blues-rock for a stripped-back sound with plenty of groove and punch.

LILY & KING

Lily & King bring a colourful mix of blues, jazz, New Orleans sounds and old-time roots music.

With trombone, guitar, banjo, percussion and more, they bring a lively, playful sound and plenty of personality to the night.

JULIAN JAMES & BECI KATE

Americana, Hill Country blues, slide guitar, harmonica and harmony.

Julian James & Beci Kate bring a road-tested sound shaped by years of touring around Australia and overseas, mixing original songs with deep blues and roots influences.

JARROD SHAW

Country Victorian bluesman Jarrod Shaw brings fingerpicked guitar, harmonica and a strong dose of Piedmont and Delta blues.

A stripped-back solo performer with deep roots in traditional blues, Jarrod builds a surprisingly big sound from guitar, voice and groove.

FROM SUNSET TO MIDNIGHT

Find your spot, grab a glass of Yering Farm wine or cider and settle in as the afternoon rolls into a summer evening.

Across the night, the music moves through acoustic roots, traditional blues, New Orleans sounds, Chicago boogie, Hill Country grooves and full-band blues as we make our way towards midnight.

This is a small New Year’s Eve at a working Yarra Valley winery — relaxed, welcoming and built around a great night of music rather than a massive crowd.

Come with your mates, settle in for the evening and raise a glass with us when the clock hits twelve.

We’re currently working on securing a good camping option close to the event.

Camping is not yet confirmed, but if you would like to camp, please register your expression of interest when purchasing your event ticket.

This will help us understand numbers and find the best suitable option for the night.

Registering your interest does not guarantee a camping spot and camping is not included in your event ticket. We’ll provide further details once an appropriate location and arrangements are confirmed.
