Barung AGM

The Barung Landcare 2025 AGM will be at the Maleny Sport and Recreation Centre on Friday 24th October, 2025. We warmly invite all members and partners to attend.

Come along to hear an update on what Barung Landcare has achieved in the last year, and our vision looking forward.

If you are interested in being more involved in Barung Landcare at the management level, nominations are now open to become an ordinary committee member or an office bearer.

Life Membership Awards - Nominations Open

Do you know of someone in the Barung community that has demonstrated a commitment to the vision, purpose and longevity of the association? This year at the AGM, Barung will be recognising deserving members with the reward of life membership. Nominations are now open, with submissions to be reviewed by the the management committee.

When: Friday 24th October 2025

Time: 10.30am - 12.00pm

Where: Maleny Sport and Recreation Club, Parklands Drive, North Maleny (off Porters Lane).

Additional details: Tea and coffee provided at meeting.

An optional light lunch will be also be provided at the Barung community nursery across the road straight after the meeting (12pm onwards).

All welcome (please indicate your intention to join us when booking for catering purposes).

Nomination and Proxy forms: Returned no later than Friday 10th October.

Life member nomination forms: Filled out online or returned no later than Friday 10th October.

For over 30 years, Barung Landcare has brought together people committed to sustaining and caring for the magnificent natural environment along the Blackall Range and surrounds.

The Sunshine Coast is home to over 10% of Australia’s native plant species, 25% of Australia’s mammals and over 50% of Australia’s birds, but also has one of the fastest growing human populations of any region in Australia. And in the midst of a Climate Emergency, now more than ever, it is incredibly important that we work together to protect and regenerate our natural areas, sustain and enhance the natural beauty of this region, and protect the unique flora and fauna that call this place home.

By supplying locally sourced native plants through our well established native nursery, connecting people through our diverse education and engagement programs, and providing essential bush regeneration services to protect and regenerate our landscape, Barung Landcare is dedicated to working for our future. Join with us and our wonderful team of volunteers in creating a better future for the Sunshine Coast region, its locals, visitors and businesses.
