Suturing & Haemostatic Agents Master Class – Gold Coast

This intensive, hands-on master class is designed for surgical assistants and perioperative clinicians who want to refine their suturing skills and deepen their understanding of hemostatic agents used in modern surgical practice.

Participants will explore the assistant’s critical role in wound closure and hemostasis, including how to anticipate surgeon preferences, select appropriate sutures and hemostatic products, and safely prepare, handle, and deploy them intra-operatively.

The program covers both foundational and advanced techniques, with practical instruction in:

• Suture material selection and needle choice

• Tissue handling and wound edge approximation

• Common closure errors and how to correct them

• Indications, contraindications, and safe use of topical hemostatic agents

• Supporting haemostasis efficiently while maintaining sterile technique and patient safety
