Basics of Sanskrit Pronunciation
Event description
The Sanskrit language is beginning to flower worldwide. It’s heard and used in yoga classes, chanting, music, texts and books. The pronunciation and sound of Sanskrit is extremely important as all sounds have energetic effect through its vibration. In the class, we will learn how to pronounce each vowel (svara), consonant and more. We will also practice how to pronounce the asana (yoga posture) names correctly and chanting the Bhagavad Gita.
All the yoga teachers, students, anyone who is interested in learning the Sanskrit language are welcome:)
Day and time: Monday 1 & 8 March 7-8:30pm
Fee: $50 for 2 classes
The classes will be held over zoom by Vidwan Praveen Bhat from India.
About the instructor:
Vidwan Praveen Bhat
-over 10 years of experience in teaching Sanskrit
-studied Nyaya philosophy under Vidwan Gangadhar Bhat and graduated from Maharaja Sanskrit college
- completed master of Philosophy in yoga shastra from Karnataka Sanskrit University
