Event description

Whether you are seasoned knitters or starting out, this workshop will guide you step-by-step through the basics of sock knitting, leaving you feeling confident and ready to knit socks!

We will focus on knitting a mini cuff-down sock, which will teach you the key techniques needed for full-sized socks.

Over the course of four hours, we’ll cover the following:

  • The structure of a sock (cuff, leg, heel, foot, toe)
  • Understanding why we use specific techniques and yarns
  • The different options available for each part of the sock and the benefits of each

By the end of the workshop, you will be confident in knitting a real pair of socks! All you need is a basic understanding of how to knit and purl.

Sarah is a hand dyer at Bombed Yarns. Sarah has been knitting for years and professionally dyeing yarn for over eight years. Sarah really enjoys knitting socks for herself. She loves the endless options, techniques and learning opportunities they offer.
