Bat Walk | Finding Franklin Bats | October 31st 2026
Description
Its spooky season, and not everyone likes to be spooked. So come hang out with us instead!
Come relax, bring a picnic banket and a hot drink while we tune in with our bat detectors and listen out for pekapeka moving through the area. We’ll have a kōrero about our local pekapeka, how we monitor them, and what we’ve been learning about their activity around Franklin.
📅 31stOctober 2026
🕖 7:30 pm
📍 Mauku - exact location will be sent out closer to the day.
Suitable for all ages and no experience needed.
Spaces are limited, so make sure you register to secure your spot.
Pekapeka are wild animals, so sightings can never be guaranteed, but we’ll have the detectors out and hopefully hear some activity along the way.
