batyr@Swinburne Staff Wellbeing Program π
Event description
Join batyr's wellbeing workshop designed for academic and professional staff. This session will focus on managing your own mental health while fostering a supportive environment for both colleagues and students.Β
batyrΒ is a for-purpose, preventative mental health organisation that champions a peer-to-peer approach, empowering individuals to seek help and support when they need it.
This is the first year of Swinburne's official partnership with batyr, offering a timely opportunity toΒ reflect on how you support yourself and those around you.
What you'll get out of this interactive session:
A supportive environment to learn and discuss mental health challenges specific to staff and students
Insights into the student experience through hearing a lived-experience storyteller share their story and what improved their mental health
Practical self-care strategies to support your own mental health, while also supporting your studentsβ wellbeing
Techniques to help you distinguish between whatβs within your control and what isnβt
Tools for creating safe spaces where students feel comfortable seeking help with their mental health & explore the support services available at Swinburne
A Q&A panel including perspectives from Swinburne's Health Service, a batyr lived-experience expert, and a lived-experience storyteller
This is a valuable opportunity to gain fresh perspectives, deepen your understanding of wellbeing, and walk away with practical tools to support your wellbeing and that of your peers.
