Event description

Get your hands dirty and be part of a great community project!

We are always looking for volunteers for our Community Garden in Bayswater.

Working Bees are held every third Saturday of the month from 9.30am to 11.30am January to November with the last working bee on December 7, 2024. NB. There is no working bee in February as we'll be hosting a fundraising sausage sizzle for CHAMPION at Bunnings Bayswater.

They are very social and inclusive and a great way meet other green thumbs, learn new gardening techniques and contribute to the smooth running of the garden.

There is always plenty to do. Tasks can include weeding, mulching, composting, repairs, clearing, planting and watering. Our Community Garden Co-ordinator, Christine Coxhill, will match your ability to what needs to be done - everyone is included.

We encourage you to book in as many dates as you can over the year as it helps us with the planning, development and maintenance of the garden. Remember to bring a hat, sunscreen, closed shoes and a water bottle! If raining, please also your wet weather gear.

New members are always welcome! If you wish to visit the garden and find out what we do, please book in. There will always be someone to welcome you.

NB. Working bees will usually be cancelled if bad weather (hail or lightening) or temperatures over 34°C are predicted.
