Politics 101: Your Ultimate Beginner’s Guide to the Aussie Election
Event description
With the Federal Election a heartbeat away, Ladies Finance Club and Bondi Beach Babes have joined forces to bring you Politics 101: Your Ultimate Guide to the Aussie Election.
Mark your calendars for a fun and interactive crash course on how Australia’s democracy actually works, all while gaining the knowledge and empowerment to make informed decisions with confidence come polling day.
Hosted by Amy Lynch (Bondi Beach Babes) and Molly Benjamin (Ladies Finance Club), this event will break down the key aspects of government, elections, and the voting process in a lively, engaging and interactive setting.
From understanding how laws are made, to understanding what an MP does. From decoding preferential voting, to sorting fact from fiction, spotting misinformation and political BS, this event will equip you with the tools to navigate elections like a pro.
Featuring knowledgeable guest speakers, real-world examples, practical tips, and an inviting forum to ask any burning questions (no questions are dumb!), it’s all about making informed choices, taking ownership of your vote, and being part of the change you want to see!
Whether you're an expat voting for the first time, just hit voting age, or an Aussie simply wondering “how the fk does our political system actually work and why should I care?” grab your friends, come for a cocktail, and join us for a big ol’ debrief on why politics isn’t just about politicians - it’s about us.
Optional donation is encouraged - the money will go towards the Lokahi Foundation which is an Australian charity focused on supporting women and children who are or have been the victims of domestic or family abuse in the Eastern Suburbs. They provide support to enable and empower women to reclaim their lives, achieve a secure environment and assist in progressing down a path which will materially improve their situation.
