BBSafe safeguarding webinar | So there's been a report of institutional abuse, neglect or exploitation of a child or vulnerable adult - what happens next?
Event description
So there's been a report made about a suspicion of abuse, violence or exploitation against someone working in your organisation - what happens next??
We usually know what our external reporting obligations are, but what else do we do? How do we respond? Do we need to do an investigation? Who else should we tell? There are many questions that organisations sometimes don't think through until the situation arises. And when we turn to our policies, they sometimes end at the external reporting part.
In this webinar we will outline how you can respond to suspicions or reports of abuse in a way that upholds the values of the organisation, protects the safety of anyone at risk, and meets legal obligations. You can think through what you need to do to be prepared.
The session is not jurisdiction specific and will cover institutional abuse, neglect and exploitation of children and vulnerable adults.
As a social impact organisation, deeply committed to supporting the not-for-profit sector, our approach is to use our deep knowledge and experience in safeguarding to truly partner with organisations. We engage collaboratively, using coaching methods and building internal capability to educate and positively influence culture as part of our engagement. We ground our work in safeguarding in story and practice. It is through engaging the hearts and minds of an organisation’s people, that we have the greatest impact.
