Event description

Orthoptics Awareness Week kicks off with World Orthoptic Day on 2 June 2025, recognising the global impact of orthoptists in improving vision outcomes.

As part of Orthoptics Awareness Week, join this session with Sue Silveira, an orthoptist at NextSense, who will provide a broad overview of the role of orthoptists and how they might be professionals you’d like to engage with.

We’ll explore the role of orthoptists in supporting people with low vision and blindness, particularly in assessment and support. The session will include real-life examples of individuals who have benefitted from working with an orthoptist, as well as a discussion of some of the current challenges the sector faces.

If you have any questions, or if you require assistance registering, please feel free to contact us at events@bca.org.au or call 1800 033 660.
