Event description

FREE - Full Day Digital Mentor Training

What’s a Digital Mentor?

A Digital Mentor is someone who helps others learn and feel comfortable using technology—whether it’s computers, smartphones, or the internet. They provide patient, step-by-step guidance on essential skills like sending emails, using apps, and staying safe online. Digital Mentors don’t need to be tech experts—just patient, enthusiastic, and good at supporting others.

Who is this training for?

Throughout 2025, ASCCA is offering free Digital Mentor training to people in volunteer-based organisations, community groups, home care package support services, and workplaces looking to better support older employees. If you already help older Australians with technology—or want to start—this training will give you the skills and confidence to do so effectively.

About Be Connected

ASCCA has once again been awarded a Be Connected Capacity Building Grant through Good Things Foundation, funded by the Australian Federal Government. The Be Connected program is a national initiative aimed at improving digital skills for Australians aged 50+. ASCCA has been involved in Be Connected since its launch in 2017, continuing its mission of empowering older Australians through technology since 1998.
As a Be Connected Capacity Building Network Partner, ASCCA provides this FREE full-day training, along with ongoing support, to individuals and organisations interested in becoming Digital Mentors. This training will equip you to deliver the Be Connected program in your own community and access funding to support digital literacy initiatives.

What to Expect

This training is hands-on, collaborative, and engaging. You’ll learn how to encourage and support seniors in developing their digital skills, helping them gain confidence in using technology safely and independently. Whether you’re already involved in digital support or looking to expand your services, this training is a valuable professional development opportunity.

Upcoming Sessions

Additional regional locations will be announced soon—keep an eye on the ASCCA website for updates.
