    Event description

An introduction to the art of dirty pot eco dyeing with talented textile artist, Sandra Goerling! This clever technique makes use of nature to create unique and beautiful fabrics, which can then be turned into unique and beautiful garments, homewares, accessories and more. A kit with all materials will be provided to each participant and is included in the price of your ticket.

What is Dirty Pot Eco Dyeing?
This process involves using the heat of dirty water made from tannin rich plant materials, to draw out the natural pigments of leaves and other plant material to make marks on a surface. This process can be used to upcycle fabric or clothing items. This workshop is an introduction to the process and uses readily available materials including onion skins and tea leaves. The pieces of fabric dyed can be used to make other items such as diary or journal covers or bags.

This process takes time, and the workshop runs for 4 hours. Maximum of 10 participants.

Where is the workshop held? In one of our technology and enterprise work spaces, at Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School
    What do I bring?
Please bring your lunch and snacks - all materials, tea, coffee and morning tea are provided!
    What to Wear:
Please wear fitted clothes (loose clothing is a safety issue with boiling liquid) that can get marked or stained. Closed in shoes are also essential and a safety requirement.
