    Session Overview

Workshop 1: How do we build purpose into marketing and rise purposefully from ethical dilemmas?

The world needs better business now more than ever. Sadly, purpose marketing has become a strategy some businesses employ inauthentically to grow their brands. Meanwhile, purposeful brands begin with genuine intentions but suffer huge backlash if their actions are (deemed) hypocritical.

People with Purpose will lead this workshop to get you engaging with ideas on how to build purpose into your marketing and rise purposefully from any ethical dilemmas you might encounter.

    • Workshop outcomes: explore complex pitfalls well-intended marketers encounter when marketing with purpose, how other B Corps deal with ethical marketing dilemmas, create a set of principles to guide your purposeful marketing endeavours

    • Who this is for:  Leadership, Strategy, Marketing, Branding, Public Relations, CSR and Governance roles.

Workshop 2: How can we step-up to improve global and local supply chains

In 2020 the idea of a short, locally-focused supply chain is back in vogue after many years of focus on lowest cost production. We are seeing new compliance regimes and standards, from modern slavery to carbon emissions measurement, and the opportunity to drive impact through working with your partners and suppliers. So where to begin? What should you be focusing on to drive improvement? And what can we learn from each other across varied industries?

Shalini Samuel, former B Lab Standards Assessor and Nominated Representative (Institutional Investors) on the Attorney-General's Department Work Group on Human Trafficking and Slavery in Supply Chains will be joining us to provide some background.

    • Workshop outcomes: Gain perspectives from industries outside your own across the B Corp community. Find out key ways to drive impact and how to tackle your supply chain
    • Who is this for: supply chain / logistics teams, sustainability managers, operations manager

Workshop 3: How to use flexible work to rebuild post COVID-19

Over the past few months, we've built a new muscle which will help us rebuild our businesses: working flexibly. It’s also been a difficult time for many B Corps and the end of JobKeeper will pose new challenges. How can we learn from this experience and what do we do with the opportunity to shape the future of work?

B Corp and flexible work experts Beam Australia will lead this workshop to get you sharing and exploring practical solutions to unlock the benefits of flexibility for your organisation’s productivity, and for your workers’ health, happiness and engagement.

    • Workshop outcomes: Understand the benefits of flexible work; explore how to close the gap between how our people want to work and how we work right now; and learn about the 7 levers to enable effective flexible working and how to use them

    • Who this is for: CEOs, people managers and HR.

Workshop 4: How can we use our collective voice to address the climate crisis?

We are living in unprecedented times. Accelerating climate change and ecological breakdown pose an overwhelming challenge to all life on Earth. There’s huge potential for us to work together to take bold steps towards climate resiliency by using advocacy, corporate action, the capital markets and cross-sector collaboration to stop emissions and draw-down carbon, and improve global well-being.

This workshop will form the foundation of the B Corp Climate Collective (BCCC) - a self-organising group of B Corps using our collective voice and actions to influence government, lead in business and support consumer campaigns to accelerate climate change mitigation and adaptation in Australia & New Zealand.

    • Workshop outcomes: get an overview and join the B Corp Climate Collective (BCCC), form climate action working groups. Walkaway with climate action initiatives you can take back to your business

    • Who this is for: anyone interested in learning what actions they can practically do to address climate change, as individuals and in their business.

Masterclass: How can I work towards being a net zero carbon emissions business in the future?

Join this masterclass hosted by Intrepid Travel and Ndevr Environmental to learn what it means to get to net zero emissions and how to start your climate journey.

Both B Corps are certified carbon neutral under the Australian Government’s Climate Active Standard. Ndevr recently worked with Intrepid to set a science-based target for the tour operator's emissions. They've continued to collaborate to bring other B Corps along on the road to net zero.

    • Learning outcomes: Understand your carbon footprint; calculate emissions; understand how to set science based emission reduction targets; and identify emission reduction opportunities

    • Who this is for: Anyone at the start of their net zero journey and who can advocate for change within their organisation
