Event description

How Fosterville Gold Mine’s future will be decided

Bendigo was built on gold and in recent years, the gold rush has been revived at Fosterville Gold Mine (FGM), located 20km northeast of Bendigo, with over 4.2 million ounces of gold produced since 2005.

To continue operating and being an active part of the community, Fosterville Gold Mine has prepared the Sustained Operations Project (SOP) Environment Effects Statement (EES) to explore what the next 10 years of operation will look like.

The EES, which is administered by the Victorian Department of Transport and Planning, has identified all the potential positive and negative effects of the SOP and proposed ways to avoid, minimise, offset or manage any significant effects.

Come and learn more about the SOP and find out why everyone can have a say about Fosterville Gold Mine’s future!

Date: 31 July

Time: 5.15 for 5.30pm

Venue: MacKenzie Quarters, 10 & 12 MacKenzie Street, Bendigo
