This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Transitioning to a new role in a fast-paced emerging technology sector can be exciting, meaningful and it can also be daunting.

This panel presentation will identify the four most common challenges experienced by those new to working for a startup and will provide some guiding solutions and tools to manage these as a new employee.

Challenge #1 - Dealing with ambiguity

Challenge # 2 - How to find your place in a flat structure

Challenge # 3 - Keeping pace with technology

Challenge # 4 - Wearing multiple hats

Dr Michelle Pizer will use her extensive corporate knowledge to extract what skills are desirable in a startup and will support people developing ‘straight talk’ and learning to ask the right questions, in a flat structured environment.

Adrian Baillargeon will focus on the importance of each individual contributing to a positive team culture and how to maintain your energy at optimum levels.

Dr Natalie Flatt will talk about best practices in managing constant change and encourage employers and employees to seek professional guidance when transitioning to new environments, particularly in the current climate, and struggling with the change.

In the virtual discussion, you will learn:

  • The difference between teams who swear by each other rather than at each other.
  • How to maintain your energy at the optimal levels more often than not.
  • To develop the ability to demonstrate ‘straight talk’ with colleagues and managers.
  • Ask the right questions to provide clarity.
  • Maintain your curiosity when embarking on a new opportunity.

Buckle-up for a ‘wake-up’ intensive morning where you will learn tips from

three professionals who support individuals and teams create positive and dynamic cultures.
